NPC: How is funding allocated for the voluntary sector in the criminal justice system?

Date & time: 01 May 2025, 2:00pm - 3:30pm
Venue

The voluntary sector’s work is vital to the criminal justice system in England and Wales. How can we make sure this work is properly funded?

Our (NPC) new research aims to better understand how funding is currently allocated so that we can find ways to make the system easier to navigate, increase collaboration, and improve services.

This event explores:

  • What types of funding are available for charities working in the criminal justice sector?
  • Which organisations, and what kinds of work, are supported by the different funders?
  • How is funding split between large and small charities?
  • How do charities combine different sources of funding?
  • And crucially, how can funders make these funding flows easier to navigate for charities in this space?

Our event is based on new research commissioned by the Lloyds Bank Foundation and undertaken in partnership with HM Prison & Probation Service,  AB Charitable Trust, Clinks. The research will be released late April.

Who this event is for:

  • Funders working in the criminal justice system in England and Wales
  • Funders interested in supporting the criminal justice system
  • Charities and voluntary organisations navigating the funding landscape, with opportunities to share your experience.

There will be opportunities to discuss findings and ask questions.
