Saheli’s 50th Anniversary Celebratory Dinner is a golden milestone marking five decades of standing alongside Black, Asian and Minoritised women and their children, supporting them to live lives that are safe, secure and free from abuse.
Over the last fifty years, Saheli has grown from a small, community-led initiative into a vital lifeline for women facing domestic abuse, forced marriage, honour-based abuse and other forms of violence. Together with partners, supporters and volunteers, Saheli have helped over 10,000 women find safety, rebuild their confidence and take courageous steps towards independence. This celebration is as much about a shared past as it is about a future in which every woman and child has the right to live free from fear.
Dress code: Black Tie / Formal / Traditional
The evening will begin with an opportunity to visit stalls showcasing a range of goods and social enterprises, followed by a drinks reception, formal proceedings, and a four-course sumptuous meal with entertainment to round off festivities.
This special occasion will be a moment to:
- Reflect on Saheli’s journey and the evolution of their work since 1976
- Celebrate the strength, courage and resilience of the women and children Saheli support
- Recognise the dedication and solidarity of staff, volunteers, funders, partners and allies who have walked alongside Saheli

- Farah Naz, Campaigner and aunt of Zara Aleena who was murdered whilst walking home in 2022
- Angie Power, Gender Based Abuse Expert
The evening includes a sumptuous 4 course Asian meal, drinks reception, stalls and entertainment by acclaimed SonAash Dancers and DJ Kash.
