Community Explorers Story
‘You can tell it is a Community Explorers meeting by the noise’. Lots of conversations and networking is the one of the main reasons people attend these community health and care meetings. On Tuesday 19 September, there were 18 participants including Jobcentre Plus, Manchester Carers Forum and the North Manchester Black Health Forum.
Information for the bulletin is compiled from a number of sources including Grantfinder, GMCVO (Greater Manchester Council for Voluntary Organisations) and direct from funders themselves. It showcases just a few of the hundreds of funding opportunities available for local community, voluntary and faith organisations. 
This bulletin is produced by a partnership of local support and development agencies across Greater Manchester.
Adactus have £9,000 left for the Miles Platting area in its BIG (Breathe Investment Grant) Scheme and they also have grants available to support projects throughout the areas where Adactus operates. 
Adactus have been supporting community groups for the last 8 years and are inviting Community Groups and projects to apply for a grant of up to £2,000.
As part of its continued commitment to raising awareness, reducing and ultimately preventing Forced Marriage/Honour Based Violence and Abuse, Manchester City Council is aiming to provide investment in 2017/18 through the Directorate for Children and Families to Voluntary, Community Sector, not for profit and faith sector organisations to further address this issue. 
Do you have memory problems? Do you care for someone with dementia or want to know more about dementia? Come and join Dementia Support Advisors, Admiral Nurses and Alzheimer's Society for a cuppa and a chat.
The Cuppa and a Chat group is to be held every Friday 1-3pm starting 29 September 2017 at Chorlton Health Centre 1 Nicolas Road, Manchester, M21 9NJ.
It is essentially a dementia café which will be facilitated by Dementia Support Advisors, Admiral Nurses and Alzheimer’s Society Support Workers.
Community Development Initiative have weekly sessions available as: one to one, couples, group therapy on marriage problems, family issues and sexual matters by fully trained male or female counsellors. Language support is available. The sessions are delivered at Oakland House, Talbot Road

Near Neighbours are now recruiting for their Greater Manchester Catalyst Leadership course. 
This is a fantastic opportunity available to gain some Leadership skills for young people aged between 16 to 26 years old.
Manchester's Community Safety Strategy Consultation has now started. The team are consulting with residents, visitors and people who work in the city. The Team would like your views on Community Safety in the city.
