The Friends of Didsbury Park, a group of volunteers based in Didsbury, Manchester have just been awarded The King’s Award for Voluntary Service. This is the highest award a local voluntary group can receive in the UK and is equivalent to an MBE.
Grants are available for not-for-profit organisations and projects in Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales, North East England and North West England that work with young people (up to age 25 years) who are experiencing inequality to engage with them on the climate emergency.
Schools, student groups, community groups and small charities across the UK can apply for funding to deliver innovative projects that engage young people with nature.
The Fund aims to raise awareness of the health effects of air pollution, encouraging and enabling communities to become effective community air quality campaigners.
