People's Health Trust Active Communities funding programme - HealthForm

Local groups and organisations with great ideas to make their communities even better places to live are now invited to apply for funding to turn their ideas into reality. People's Health Trust

Active Communities is a funding programme for community groups and not-for-profit organisations, with an income of less than £350,000 a year or an average of £350,000 over two years.

Your Voice Matters - Diversity and Inclusion

This year’s Your Voice Matters - Diversity & Inclusion Event for Wythenshawe and Withington Hospitals will be held on Thursday 5 April (registration from 9-9:30am). Tea, coffee and a light lunch will be provided. The event will be taking place at Wythenshawe Hospital, in Lecture Theatre 2 located within the ERC building.

A Greater Manchester survey to better unerstand how The GMHSC Partnership can support working carers

Following the launch of the Carers Charter for Greater Manchester in January, the Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership (GMHSC Partnership) has demonstrated its commitment to carers and adopted the Working Carers Pledge. The pledge was developed using established good practice and research by carer organisations and outlines twelve commitments to working carers such as support with balancing multiple roles, help to stay healthy and well, and access to support and information they might need.

Care Quality Commission Adult Social Care campaign 2018 #CareAware

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has launched a new national campaign, at the end of February aimed at raising awareness of CQC among people choosing adult social care, for themselves or others. CQC wants more people to be aware that if you are choosing home care or a care home, CQC can help you make that decision. CQC also wants to encourage more people to download its independent reports to compare options before choosing a care home.

So I’ve got a question that I’m struggling with at the moment. It’s attracting some mixed views in the office, so let’s put it out there for a wider debate.

Why is it so often the case that the public sector’s answer to working with the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector is to create a job and additional resources within the public sector?

John was keen to be as well as possible and to reach his aim of leading what he referred to as a ‘normal life’. John joined the Moodswings Recovery and Isolation project on the recommendation of his GP as he had struggled with severe depression for many years, and had recently been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. For him, a normal life meant becoming part of the community again as his severe mental health problems had meant he had become isolated for a number of years and had not worked or socialised.

Family and Carers Strategy Refresh – Manchester Services Consultation meeting

Greater Manchester Mental Health (GMMH) NHS Foundation Trust is holding a series of consultation meetings in Manchester for carers and staff of GMMH services to look at how they can further develop the Trust Family and Carers Strategy. This strategy currently has four priority areas following consultation across Bolton, Salford, Trafford and Specialist Services. Due to the formation of the new Trust, GMMH would like to ensure the priorities reflect those of carers and staff in Manchester.
