The forum will provide an opportunity for people to hear about current and future developments and discuss policy and practice affecting their day-to-day work.

In this training session, put on by the Restricted Eligibility Support Service, aimed at people working in housing and homelessness across Greater Manchester, will explore an introduction to the immigration system in the UK, how people can enter and seek leave to remain in the UK and the restrictions imposed. The session will also explore the asylum system, including why people seek protection in the UK and an outline of the asylum process.
A short training session on asylum support discontinuations and how people newly granted refugee status can be supported.

The session will look into the role and responsibility of the local authority and who can access homelessness assistance.
