The Proud Trust is offering 16 young people the chance to go on an amazing skills and employment programme with us. The Proud Trust are also looking for adults who have skills to share to help them deliver the programme.
Are you LGBT+, aged 16-25, and not currently in employment, education or training?
Proud Futures is a programme tailored around your needs and skills, designed to support you into meaningful work, education or volunteer opportunities. This is designed for those who might feel unsure about the next steps in life and who might feel nervous about taking part, and you will be supported by an experienced youth worker.
The Proud Trust would particularly welcome interest from those LGBT+ young people who are Black, Asian or are otherwise racialised as not white. The Proud Trust also strongly encourage applications from disabled LGBT+ young people.
What’s on offer?
- LGBT+ specific support, including education on the Equality Act 2010 and your rights in the workplace
- LGBT+ community and education
- Skill-sharing within the group
- Professionals-led sessions on key skills for workplaces led by LGBT+ people from a variety of jobs
- Fun and games
- Learning about unions and workers’ rights
- Supportive LGBT+ youth workers, young people and LGBT+/LGBT+ allied professionals
- Short work placements for all committed attendees
- A chance to build your CV, including possible accredited courses, such as Food Hygiene and First Aid
When: Oct 2020 – Mar 2021 (Sessions on Mondays and Thursdays followed by a work placement for up to 2 weeks)
