Manchester Foundation Trust (MFT) are pleased to invite you to join their first virtual Members Engagement Session. The session will take place on Friday, 26 June 2026, at 12.00pm – 1.15pm.
The new online events will give you more opportunities, throughout the year, to hear about developments across the Trust, engage with Trust leaders and ask questions about the issues that matter to them.
These sessions sit alongside regular in-person events, including the Annual Members' Meeting held each September, and Young People’s Event held each November, making it easier than ever to stay informed and involved wherever you are.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the digital future of healthcare
For the first virtual session, MFT will explore how digital innovation and artificial intelligence (AI) are helping to shape the future of healthcare.
From AI-assisted cancer screening to digital tools that connect patients more closely with their care, technology is creating new possibilities – improving patient experiences and helping us deliver safer, more effective care.
In this first session, you can learn more about:
- What AI is, how it is being used within healthcare and how patient safety remains at the centre of every innovation. The session will explore how we’re using AI to:
- Support the detection of lung cancer.
- Help clinicians capture notes providing more focused patient time.
- Enhance patient communications, including discharge information.
MFT will also look at wider developments in digital healthcare, including:
- Wearable technology that helps patients monitor their health and stay connected to their care.
- MyMFT, our patient app, now used by more than 700,000 patients.
- How digital tools are helping us improve services and patient experiences.
There will also be an opportunity to put your questions directly to colleagues leading this work.
