This one-day training course provides an overview of the roles and responsibilities of safeguarding leads in charities in England.

By the end of the training, you'll understand:

  • the role of the designated safeguarding lead and their relationship with other roles in charities
  • statutory and multi-agency safeguarding mechanisms and the role of voluntary organisations within them
  • the role of effective policies and procedures in building a positive safeguarding culture
  • how to receive and manage safeguarding concerns, including confidentiality and data protection best practice
  • effective signposting and referral processes, including responding to inaction
  • how to keep yourself and others safe while managing and responding to harm.
