Free training for third sector organisations explaining key trustee responsibilities for safeguarding.
This is a free training offer for North Manchester VCFSE groups. Safeguarding is a fundamental part of operating as a charity for the public benefit. Trustees must take reasonable steps to protect people who come into contact with their charity from harm.
This course will help trustees embed safeguarding in their governance. The course also explores common safeguarding risks trustees should be aware of, and how to manage personal behaviour and relationships.
By the end of the training, you’ll:
-
understand your safeguarding duties within current law and policy in England. This includes your responsibilities to staff, volunteers, children and adults at risk of harm, and others in contact with your organisation
-
understand the governance and assurance role of trustees in building a safeguarding culture
-
be aware of safer working responsibilities as a trustee.
Lunch will be provided.
Training delivered by NCVO, funded by North Manchester Together.
