Active Travel Community Access grants

A new £535k grants programme, funded through the Department for Transport and Active Travel England Capability and Ambition Fund, will support Greater Manchester's active travel mission. The a blue bag with a yellow ribbon around the top and white pound sign on the frontcommunity access grants will help local businesses and organisations to get more people walking, wheeling and cycling.

Key Fund Energy Resilience Fund

This fund will provide blended (grant and loan) support to community and social enterprises to enable them to retrofit energy generating/saving technology on community owned or managed a blue bag with a yellow ribbon around the top and white pound sign on the frontbuildings, with an initial focus on stabilising or reducing energy costs. It will particularly target high energy users, working in deprived communities or with marginalised groups.

Gardening on prescription in Manchester summer 2023 sessions

The Sow the City Nature for Health service aims to tackle and prevent mental ill health by providing Social and Therapeutic Horticulture on prescription for Manchester residents. The service is a garden with a woman and man sowing plantsfunded by NHS England as part of a national pilot and is delivered in partnership with community gardens across the city.
