Macc recently managed the latest Spirit of Manchester Fund round of grants which focused on organisations that support people with the cost of living crisis. We will be sharing one story a day in July to show the impact of these grants and the wide range of projects that they supported. Today, we have the story from King Foundation.
Through the Spirit of Manchester Fund, Barlow Moor Community Association (BMCA) have been able to support an increased number of people through the cost of living crisis. They have offered:
Youth Elements will be in full swing this summer with their Action Van, a mobile youth club on wheels. Youth Elements are looking for freelancers and sessional staff to join their team.
Youth Elements are looking for people with skills in visual and creative artists, sports and martial arts, acrobatics and circus skills, music, and drama, etc…
You will need to have a DBS in place and insurance (if required).
Manchester City Council is offering a new package of support that aims to support residents through the cost of living crisis. £3,000 per ward is being made available to support food organisations. 
This is in addition to the £20k per ward Neighbourhood Investment Fund (NIF) allocation.

Hubbub has launched a £200,000 fund to support innovative ideas to tackle food waste. Supported by Starbucks, we’re offering grants of up to £40,000.

This meeting focused on the Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust Improvement Plan. The Scrutiny Committee invited representatives from the Trust to attend this meeting following a previous meeting in October after the concerns raised in the BBC Panorama programme led to allegations of abuse and ill treatment of patients by staff.
