End of Life Care Strategy: Focus Groups

Pennine Acute Hospital Trust is currently developing an End of Life Care Strategy. The Trust is interested in feedback from families and carers who have experience of services provided by the Trust in relation to End of Life Care.

The Trust will be holding two focus groups in October to gather service experiences and would encourage people to attend to share their feedback so that they can provide excellent care and meet the needs of patients, families and carers.

University Hospital South Manchester events to launch the new community services specifications

UHSM (University Hospital South Manchester) have put together a programme of events to launch the new community services specifications during September/October and would like to invite local voluntary and community organisations to be involved.

There will be a range of activities across a four week period with each week concentrating on a specific theme.

Frailty: 29 September
Mental Health: 5 October
Living Well in Manchester: 12 October
General Out of Hospital Community Services: 19 October

Care and support is changing

Care and support in England is changing. The new Care Act 2014, is making care and support more consistent across England.

People could benefit from the changes if they:
• receive care and support
• support someone as a carer
• are planning for future care and support

What is changing?
Since April 2015, the Care Act Legislation has introduced:
• A new national level of care and support needs to make care and support more consistent across the country
• New support for carers
• Deferred payment agreements for care costs
