Many small VCS organisations are on a knife edge. They are facing an unprecedented demand on services, along with a loss of staff and volunteers as more people self-isolate, due to showing symptoms or being in higher risk groups. Trading efforts have been hit. There has also been - and will continue to be - a devastating loss of income due to cancellation of fundraising events and regular small donors being more cautious about what they do with their money.

The 42nd Street Horsfall creative groups and gallery might be closed at the minute but they have been busy thinking of ways to keep everyone connected and creative while we are all at home. Shed Happens – Even when you’re self-isolating

The UK Men’s Shed Association wants to ensure that where Shedders are following NHS Guidelines on Coronavirus and have to self-isolate, that they have a ‘Virtual Shed’ they can listen to and interact with online. The UKMSA wants to keep Shedders connected. They are producing a weekly radio show called ‘Shed Happens’ that will broadcast live every Wednesday from 10am-12pm on Frome FM, which can be listened to online here nationwide or Frome 96.6FM

One in three of us live with a health condition and are twice as likely to be amongst the least physically active. EasierToBeActive aims to make it easier for those with health conditions to be active and stay active. This a national conversation for anyone with a passion for empowering and inspiring those with health conditions to be active. From mid-March a national online workshop will be hosted to provide a safe space - where everyone can share their ideas, and read, comment and vote on the ideas of others, all anonymously.
