Youth Charter Race for Peace invites communities to participate in Race for Peace 2026, an event that promotes peace, unity and community through sport, community leadership and education.
Race for Peace 2026 marks the 50th Anniversary of the Soweto uprisings in South Africa in 1976 recognising the historic role of young people in the struggle for equality and educational opportunity.
We (Youth Charter) are also marking the sad and unfortunate events over the last couple weeks relating to the incidents as a result of knife crime in the area. We wish to use this a time to bring our communities together in solidarity, support and love for Moss Side.
Communities, Organisations, Schools and partners across the UK and internationally will take part in a symbolic walk, jog or run to demonstrate the power of working together for a better future. The Youth Charter will be hosting a Race for Peace in each of our campus city locations: Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, London.
Social Coaches
If you are a social coach you will be able to put these hours of voluntary work towards your social coaching status. You can also use this as an opportunity to sign up social coaches to volunteer on behalf of your partner organisation. We'd love to see you with us on the day for sure.
If you'd like to participate in the Race for Peace event or volunteer to help facilitate this activity please send an RSVP email to Robert.croll@youthcharter.org and conact@youthcharter.org by Friday 5th Jun 2026 end of day
