The Thinking Shop – Making sense of working ON my organisation

Date & time: 21 October 2026, 10:30am - 12:00pm
Venue
The University of Manchester – Emmeline Room A, Pankhurst Building, Dover Street, M13 9PS

Most people involved in charities, CICs and community organisations spend a lot of time doing — supporting people, answering emails, chasing funding, solving problems and keeping things moving.

The Thinking Shop is a 90-minute facilitated session exploring a simple question:

How much of what we are busy doing is actually helping us do what we exist to do?

It isn’t a training course. There are no presentations and no expert standing at the front with all the answers.

Instead, participants will use simple questions, conversation, practical exercises and their own Thinking Book to evaluate where their time goes, reconnect activity with the purpose of their organisation and consider whether their attention is focused in the right places.

The session is open to people involved in charities, CICs, voluntary and community organisations.

Places are limited to 10 people, with one place per organisation so that as many organisations as possible can benefit - all places are fully funded (advanced booking required)

The Thinking Shop is run by Charity Partnership — Helping good causes do great things.
