Festival50 is part of Chetham’s School of Music’s celebration of fifty years of creative education, accessibility and diversity. In 1969, students – including the first female and international students in a 300 year school history – joined Chetham’s by audition. That small musical revolution formed a new co-educational specialist music school with far-reaching results. In 2019, we celebrate that moment of positive change with our wider community in Festival50.

Manchester City Council have opened their Manchester Culture Awards 2019 for nominations, they want to hear about last year's events, people, projects and shows. Large or small, international or local, this is your chance to nominate the people, organisations and groups that you think made a creative buzz in Manchester between 1 April 2018 and 31 March 2019.

Contact Theatre and the Greater Manchester Coalition of Disabled People are looking for a group of young disabled people between 15-25 who live in Manchester and want to have an impact on theatre by viewing theatre pieces for free and sharing your thoughts on them.

A play about young carers in Salford that “knocked MPs sideways” is about to embark on a national tour in June 2019.

The show, Who Cares, was written by Matt Woodhead and co-produced by The Lowry and LUNG. It was made in partnership with Greater Manchester Charity, Gaddum and its Salford Carers Service and is funded by Arts Council England and the Oglesby Charitable Trust. 

The Manchester Museum and the Whitworth, part of the University of Manchester, and Manchester Art Gallery provide creative arts for health programmes for the local community through a varied programme of activities. In 2012 they were recognised by RSPH for outstanding and innovative contributions to Arts and Health research and practice with two awards.

The Manchester BME Network (MBME) Network will soon be starting their third capacity support cohort with the National Heritage Lottery Fund. This project aims to help members who are ready or are very serious about applying for a Heritage Grant.

The Inspire scheme provides £1 tickets to theatre and cinema shows at HOME. 

These £1 tickets are available to people who wouldn't ordinarily be able to visit. It is available to charities, voluntary organisations and community groups within the Greater Manchester region.

This is a call out to the BEM/BAME community for individuals that have gone through prostate cancer/investigation journey.

Ian Smith is a freelance photographer, and, looking to continue/develop his work surrounding the awareness and early diagnosis of prostate cancer. To continue his work, Ian would like to invite subjects with a lived experience of prostate cancer, or, prostate investigation.
