Advicenow will be running a free housing/homelessness rights course for community groups supporting refugees.
The course aims to give you the basic knowledge and skills needed to deal with key issues for people dealing with homelessness and living in temporary accommodation.
The course will be delivered online, You will be required to watch a 30 minute introductory video before each interactive session.
Week 1
Monday 15th September 10am-12pm Housing and Benefits
Tuesday 16th September 10aam-12pm The basics of tenancies and other housing arrangements
Week 2
Monday 22nd September 10am-12pm Dealing with homelessness applications
Tuesday 23rd September 10am-12pm Living in temporary accommodation
It is important that you are able to attend all four sessions as later sessions build upon knowledge from the previous ones.
You do not need to know anything about housing law to apply as these workshops are aimed at people with no formal legal training. The workshops will be delivered in English and accessibility needs can be submitted in the registration form.
Registration will close on Friday 5th September at midnight. Advicenow will be in contact one week before the course to confirm your place.
