Detached Youth Work Sessions for youth workers (6 dates)

Date & time: 13 October 2026, 6:30pm - 24 November 2026, 8:30pm
Venue
Brunswick Community Hub, Brunswick Street, Manchester, M13 9SX

Detached Youth Training offers a fantastic opportunity to strengthen your engagement skills, broaden your understanding of detached youth work and learn effective ways to reach and support young people in their own communities

Overall aim: By the end of six weeks, workers will be able to safely start detached youth work in familiar neighbourhoods and begin the process of detached youth work ‘reconnaissance’ in unfamiliar neighbourhoods. Workers will be able to initiate conversations on the street with young people they do not know, work according to Manchester’s Detached Youth Work Common Protocols and critically reflect on and record their practice.

All sessions will take place on Tuesday evenings, 6.30-8.30 pm at Brunswick Community Hub, Brunswick St, Manchester, M13 9SX. It is hoped that participants will attend all six sessions. A certificate will be issued on completion.
