Media Trust: Creating scroll-stopping videos – How to hook audiences

Date & time: 14 July 2026, 2:00pm - 3:00pm
Venue
Online

Discover how to create compelling short-form videos that hook audiences in seconds, even with limited time and resources.

Joined by expert volunteer Fred Bhat, Executive Producer at the BBC, you’ll have the chance to ask your most pressing questions about creating engaging video content for social media.

Whether you’re struggling to come up with ideas, improve your storytelling, or create videos that perform, this informal drop-in clinic is your opportunity to get tailored advice.

You’ll also have the opportunity to connect with a small group of charities facing similar challenges, so you can learn from each other’s experiences and leave with practical ideas to put into action.

What will the session cover?

This session will explore how charities can learn from broadcasters and digital creators who use storytelling techniques to capture attention in the first few seconds and keep audiences engaged.

We’ll (Media Trust) open with a brief 10-minute introduction to storytelling techniques, followed by a 50-minute open Q&A where you can ask our expert about your specific challenges.

Who can attend?

To ensure everyone gets a chance to ask their questions, we are limiting this session to just 40 places. These events fill up quickly, so register for your free place today!

Please note that, due to demand, we can only accommodate one staff member or volunteer per charity who is responsible for communications, marketing or media.
