This course is designed to provide trustees with safeguarding awareness, understanding of their roles and responsibilities and confidence to promote best safeguarding practice within their organisations.
This course provides a detailed understanding of the safeguarding duties and responsibilities for Trustees.
The course content includes:
- An introduction to safeguarding adults and children and an overview of relevant legislation
- Why the role of the trustee is important
- Ingredients required for good organisational safeguarding
- Responsibilities under the Charity Commission in England and Wales
Participants will be able to:
- Reflect on the importance of safeguarding within their charities
- Gain an understanding of potential risk factors for their organisations and how to manage them
- Have an awareness of key safeguarding legislation, guidance and how to keep up to date
- Understand their roles and responsibilities as Trustees
- Understand guidance from the Charity Commission England and Wales
- Understand key ingredients for good organisational safeguarding
