Safeguarding training course for trustees

This course is designed to provide trustees with safeguarding awareness, understanding of their roles and responsibilities and confidence to promote best safeguarding practice within their organisations.

This course provides a detailed understanding of the safeguarding duties and responsibilities for Trustees.

The course content includes:

• An introduction to safeguarding adults and children and an overview of relevant legislation
• Why the role of the trustee is important
• Ingredients required for good organisational safeguarding
• Responsibilities under the Charity Commission in England and Wales

Participants will be able to:

• Reflect on the importance of safeguarding within their charities
• Gain an understanding of potential risk factors for their organisations and how to manage them
• Have an awareness of key safeguarding legislation, guidance and how to keep up to date
• Understand their roles and responsibilities as Trustees
• Understand guidance from the Charity Commission England and Wales
• Understand key ingredients for good organisational safeguarding
