New guidance on delivering safe adult day care

scieAs the restrictions of the COVID-19 lockdown are eased, this guide aims to support you, day care managers, social workers, commissioners and providers, to restart or continue activities. It is focused on community-based day services, day centres (with and without personal care), including specialised day centre environments, and those with outdoor spaces.

Report: GM Big Disability Survey Covid-19 report

The Greater Manchester Disabled People’s Panel (GMDPP) created a survey to find out how disabled people in Greater Manchester were managing during the Covid 19 pandemic. The Panel is unique, no other city region has managed to establish one, it is made up of 14 disabled people’s organisations. The Panel already knew a lot of the issues, but to help them to influence improvement of how services were responding they needed a wide evidence base the survey could provide. 936 people responded, making it one of the largest surveys by and for disabled people of the Pandemic.

ambition for ageingGM GOLD (Growing Older with Learning Disabilities) was an inclusive research project carried out by a team of older people with learning disabilities.

Ambition for Ageing wanted to find out what older people with learning disabilities think about their local area, whether they feel part of their local community and what support or barriers exist to meaningful social contacts, interactions and activities.

Chances are that most people know at least one group whose work and volunteers immediately spring to mind as being exceptional. However, most people will not have thought of nominating these groups for the prestigious Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service.

Multi-million pound Covid-19 recovery scheme launches for community-led organisations

A new £9.5million funding scheme that will support community-led organisations in England affected by the Covid-19 crisis, has been unveiled.

The Covid-19 Community-Led Organisations Recovery Scheme (CCLORS) will provide grants up to £100,000 to community-led organisations in England that are facing severe financial difficulties as a direct result of the coronavirus lockdown.
