Benefits Webinars and Time to Chat sessions for people with MS in Greater Manchester
COVID-19 is affecting us all, especially in relation to not being able to go out and see family and friends as well as concerns about money.
The MS Society know that for people with MS there may also be worries about benefits, managing your condition and the risk of loneliness.
That’s why they are putting on a range of new online talks where you can meet other people and access information. These include:

ALL FM are offering free online radio training to those who may be isolated or feeling more vulnerable right now. The training will be via Zoom or a similar platform and sessions will be a couple of hours. It’s informal and free. It will lead to pre recording a show on ALL FM 96.9.
Europia has launched a befriending phone-line service for Polish people who are over-50 years old led by Europia Outreach Officer Karol Kochanowski.
Europia is producing Wellbeing videos led by Karolina Skulska, a Polish-speaking Life Coach and Director of Be Super You. Karolina offers advice and techniques for coping with stress. These videos will be released every Monday for 7 weeks. The introduction and week 1 videos are available our their Youtube channel 
Teleconferencing has been an important and useful tool to engage with members who are not online. While one-to-one befriending calls are excellent, it’s also great for people to be able to get together in groups, especially when other members may still be getting together online, via Zoom or other platforms.
In the latest newsletter GMPA look ahead with an editorial piece by Graham Whitham on how to go about tackling poverty in the aftermath of the pandemic. The Edge Post Covid-19 Revival Fund is a one-off fund with up to £250,000 of grant funding available. Applications are welcomed for grants of between £10,000 and £50,000.
The Institute of Fundraising (IoF) have 1,500 free places for individuals from charities with an annual income of under £1 million.
Ecclesiastical have launched the second phase of giving in their Movement for Good awards.
The National Lottery Community Fund has launched the Coronavirus Community Support Fund (CCSF). It is part of the Government’s £750m support package for charities and local enterprises. The fund is aimed primarily at small to medium organisations in England to support you to continue to deliver services to people and communities affected by Covid-19.
