MSE Charity is currently accepting UK applications to its ‘Life Changing Transition’ theme but will close as soon as 40 applications are accepted so groups should not wait to apply.
Funded by Money Saving Expert, the MSE Charity gives grants to not for profit organisations that deliver activities which make a lasting impact on how people think, behave and manage their money.
The Foundation makes grants to charities that meet one of their two chosen areas of focus which are:
1. Improving the education of young people

The last Friday of every month, Hope Mill Theatre based in Ancoats, Manchester hosts a relaxing play reading group, from 11am - 1pm. Open to all ages, it is a great way to meet new people, enjoy a hot beverage and immerse yourself in the world of theatre, and is often hosted by cast members of upcoming shows. This month it will be a member from the cast of Mame, which premieres on the 29 September.
The Whitworth is looking for two emerging artists from any discipline, aged 24 or under, to help them shape their work with young people and local communities.

Arts Council England have recently published their draft strategy for 2020-2030, which will shape their development, advocacy and investment approach over the next ten years. They have opened a consultation on their draft strategy which closes on 23 September 2019.

Nigel Rose, Strategic Lead (Commissioning), at Macc was involved in facilitating and contributing to the North Manchester Inquiry into increasing the strength of the voluntary sector and the final recommendations paper is now available here. There is an ongoing working group which Sarah Whitelegg, Capacity Building Team Manager, is part of.
