Manchester City Council wants to consult with equality focussed voluntary sector groups in Manchester about the future of its Equality Funding Programme.

Big Potential

Big Potential, a BIG Lottery Fund grant fund, will deliver approximately £20m of grant funding over 3 years to eligible VCSE organisations with the aim of improving the sustainability, capacity and scale of VCSE organisations in order that they may deliver greater social impact.

The programme aims to raise awareness of the social investment market and support VCSEs who want to prepare themselves for social investment or winning contracts.

Big Potential has two possible application routes - Breakthrough and Advanced.

Dream Fund 2016 is now open for applications

The Dream Fund gives organisations the chance to deliver the project they have always dreamed of, but never had the opportunity to bring to life. The Postcode Dream Trust are asking charitable organisations across Great Britain to think big, be ambitious and collaborate with other not-for-profit partners to deliver their dream project.

Dream Fund 2016 will offer a total award fund of £2 million for charitable organisations to deliver their ‘dream’ project in the areas of Scotland, England or Wales in 2016-2018.

Directors sought at Together Dementia Support

Together Dementia Support is a relatively new, not-for-profit Community Interest Company whose objective is to support local people who are living with dementia, enabling them to lead active lives, giving and receiving support with others.

Together Dementia Support is successfully running several Friendship and Activity Groups in central/south Manchester and have plans to grow and develop this work.

Together Dementia Support wish to strengthen their board of directors and are seeking directors with experience in either HR, financial management, or bid writing.

Manchester Volunteer Advice Project information sessions

Interested in advice work?
With the Manchester Volunteer Advice Project you can volunteer in five advice services who work with members of the community – Cheetham Hill Advice Centre, Manchester Mind, the Manchester Refugee Support Network, the Young People’s Support Foundation and the Greater Manchester Immigration Aid Unit.

They help with a range of issues including immigration, debt, consumer, housing and welfare benefits.

Mencap STEP UP Project

Based in Manchester and the West Midlands, Step Up is a two-year pilot programme for people with a learning disability or communication difficulty (PWLD/CD) aged 16 - 30 who have offended or are at risk of offending. Using learning from Mencap’s successful Raising Your Game and Employ Me programmes, this two-step peer-led programme will engage and prepare this hard to reach group to move into employment through social action initiatives and tailored support.

Free furniture available for collection by 24 Aug

As a result of emptying Daisy Mill Manchester City Council have free furniture to dispose of by Monday 24 August 2015.

There is various furniture available including around 50 chairs, desks and filing cabinets of various descriptions.
