Help Archives+ Centre chart life during lockdown in Manchester

archives+Archives+, the city’s showcase and repository for archives and family history, is inviting all Mancunians to share their writing, drawings, photos, audio and video files, which could form part of future exhibitions about life during the COVID-19 lockdown. 

All submissions from Manchester residents, no matter how big or small, are welcome.

Volunteers needed for The Real Neighbours Wythenshawe Phone Buddy Scheme

The Real Neighbours Wythenshawe are looking for volunteers to help support the vulnerable members of the community that are currently alone in isolation.

You would become a phone buddy and ring daily or weekly for a chat, to prevent loneliness and be a point of contact for ongoing support over the next few weeks of months.

the children's societyThe Youth-Led Commission on Separated Children (YLCSC) are campaigning for all unaccompanied and separated children arriving in the UK alone to have a guardian who will speak up for them. 

A new documentary, ‘Guardians’, follows the group as they investigate the guardianship scheme and campaign for more support to be available.

Cultural sector in Greater Manchester comes together to help young people

creative care kitCharities, businesses and the arts have joined forces to support thousands of young people across Greater Manchester during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The initiative, led by Greater Manchester Combined Authority, will see 22,000 Creative Care kits distributed to young people who are not online, and so may be feeling more isolated and lonely during this difficult time.
