Arcon Housing Association is a well established Housing Association based in the centre of Manchester with 1,200 properties in management.

Whilst the majority of their properties are general needs homes, one of their values and objectives is to provide housing to specialist care providers. At present they have 6 schemes of this type in Manchester (including Marillac House) and these are leased to 5 different charities who provide care and support to adults with learning difficulties as well as people with drug and alcohol problems.

A quarter of a million pounds is available for community and neighbourhood projects across the North West in areas where Adactus Housing Group have properties.

The Neighbourhood Fund has now been running since 2010 and at least £200,000 has been available every year for community projects. In 2013 the Adactus Housing Group supported over 200 projects across the North West.

The Golden Bottle Trust and the Bulldog Trust are seeking to make small to medium sized grants (£1,000 - £30,000 over a maximum of 3 years) to new and existing organisations to enable them to get closer to achieving their goals.

For many organisations looking to finance new projects, seeking funding can be extremely difficult and in some cases, impossible. Common problems include time consuming application processes, minimum grant levels being too high, the project not fitting into a specific funding category or the organisation not meeting the strict criteria often required.

The Diane Modahl Sports Foundation (DMSF) is changing lives. Working with some of the North West’s most disadvantaged young people, the organisation has provided opportunity; the opportunity to aspire to – and achieve potential.

Potential can be about making friends, joining in, learning respect; potential can be about competing and winning, excelling (for a few) or achieving (for all) in sport, school and life.
