Voluntary sector representation group opportunity – Youth crime and violence

The Enthusiasm Trust have a unique opportunity for fellow organisations who are working within the youth crime and youth violence agenda.

The Enthusiasm Trust are gathering a number of key representatives who will become the voice of the community sector within this remit.

This group will inform and shape key elements of working with young people within this agenda. An opportunity to share good practise, set into motion key ideas and challenge existing approaches.

Youth Social Action Project and launch of Faith Youth Manchester

Calling young people of faith, aged 13-19, who would like to meet and develop friendship with 13-19’s of other faiths.

Faith Network for Manchester is looking to form a small group of young people to decide, plan and run a social action activity around interfaith week 17-24 November.

The small group will then offer the social action project to a larger group to participate in, with everyone invited to a concluding celebration which will launch Faith Youth Manchester (FYM) on Sunday 24 November (afternoon or evening to be confirmed by the young people).

Manchester City Council Advice Tender

A new tender from Manchester City Council has been advertised on The Chest. The tender is for advice services and is in 3 parts. Part 1 is for City-Wide Advice Services. Part 2 is for Targeted Individual/Family Advice Services. Part 3 is for a Framework Agreement for the Provision of Innovative Advice Solutions. All the tenders are for 1 year with the possibility of an extension for another year.

This survey seeks not only to provide them with more detailed information about this issue but also to provide you with some basic facts about Personal Health Budgets.

Search is on for Manchester’s next wave of women social entrepreneurs

Manchester is seeking a group of fifty women to become the city’s next wave of social entrepreneurs.

Manchester City Council has agreed to support Make A Wave, which aims to train 250 women UK-wide to become social business leaders and start their own projects to bring significant benefits to their communities. Manchester will host a fifty-strong cohort and women over the age of 18 are invited to apply by Sunday 15 December.

Communities of Interest Report 2013: Gender Chapter - consultation respond by 7 Nov

The Equalities Team at Manchester City Council is currently in the process of refreshing the annual Communities of Interest (COI) report for 2013. Within the report it will include a chapter on Gender. It's essentially a summary of what's happening in Manchester in 2013 with regards to equality as well as issues that need to be highlighted.

The gender chapter from the last Communities of Interest Report (COI) report is attached to give you an idea of what has previously been included.

Commissioning and Integrated Care

Monitor is the sector regulator for health services in England. One of its roles is to ensure that Health and Social Care Act 2012 is implemented and a key focus of the Act is on integrated care. The Act imposes duties on Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) to ensure that health services are internally integrated (within NHS provided services) and externally integrated (with health and social services provided by others).

Adactus Housing Relaunch Neighbourhood Fund

Following the first round of neighbourhood funding Adactus have supported or pledged to support 75 projects across Manchester, Trafford and Cheshire totaling £78,000 in 2013/14. The fund is judged by Adactus residents and they have £9,000 still available for community projects.

Projects supported so far this year include funding for events provided by residents’ associations; support for community allotments and gardens and support costs for community groups.
