The Be Proud Awards are a great way to celebrate the city's armies of volunteers who make 'Our Manchester' great, 
and to thank those extraordinary individuals and groups that work hard to help others. These people make a real difference in communities and help to improve local neighbourhoods.
On Thursday 18 August 2016 we announced the winner for our Spirit of Manchester 2016 Best Community Space Award – congratulations to Growing in the City! 
This is the first year of the Best Community Space award and we decided that you the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector in Manchester should decide the winner. We are delighted that over 700 votes were cast in our online vote.
NHS England is committed to involving patients and public in their work. As part of its commitment they want to share and learn from good practice. NHS England is seeking to make a number of grant awards to enable the showcasing of good practice around patient and public involvement.

The Inter Faith Youth Trust is providing small grants for events organised by and for young people focused around Inter Faith Week 13-20 November 2016.
The Trust will be awarding small grants up to £500 for organisations running events or projects connected with Inter Faith Week 2016. 
The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service is the highest award given to volunteer groups across the UK.
Any group of 2 or more people doing volunteering work can be nominated for the award. The majority of the group must be volunteers, and more than half the volunteers must have the right to live in the UK. 
Manchester City Council is inviting voluntary and community sector groups in the city to one of a series of three workshops to start discussions on a new approach to supporting the voluntary sector in Manchester. An approach tied to the Our Manchester strategy and which supports ambitious plans to radically improve the 
health and wellbeing of Manchester residents.
Following another successful Hate Crime Awareness Week, Manchester wants to continue to target hate crime. Making Manchester Safer wantd to build on the City's reputation for celebrating diversity and encouraging cohesion by holding events and activities throughout the summer. You can help do this by holding an event or activity in your neighbourhood.
Breathe Investment Grants (BIG) are available to support small scale community projects that will improve the quality of life for Adactus Housing Group residents and make a real difference to the neighbourhoods where they operate. 
Transform grants are for up to £100,000, to be spent over 1-2 years and are aimed at supporting the domestic and sexual abuse sectors as a whole. Funded projects will influence change beyond the individual charity receiving funding. This is a one-off grants programme running from August 2016 with final decisions in early 2017. 
The Guinness Partnership Aspire Awards are open to applications from individuals and community groups for projects which benefit Guinness customers, making their local communities great places to live.
