The Inspiring Change Manchester Innovation Partnership Fund

29 Sep 2016 - 14:57 by michelle.foster

Inspiring Change Manchester recognise the outstanding work that smaller charities and groups do every day with those with multiple and complex needs across the City of Manchester; working across all areas, all ethnic groups, every demographic and all ages. Inspiring Change Manchester also know that providing workforce development opportunities and training or researching specialist topics is a luxury for many of these groups that often cannot be met from existing, over-stretched funds.

Lloyds Bank Foundation - Invest programme

16 Sep 2016 - 09:58 by michelle.foster

Invest grants provide longer term core or direct delivery funding for eligible charities that are delivering clear outcomes as a result of their work. Invest grants fund core organisational costs, meaning those related to the day to day running of your charity. Requests for core costs will only be considered where the majority of your charity’s work (more than 50% of your work and expenditure) meets our eligibility criteria. The programme will also fund costs associated with the direct delivery of your work.

Home Office - Hate Crime Community Project Fund

16 Sep 2016 - 09:52 by michelle.foster

Hate crimes are crimes that are motivated by hostility on the grounds of race (ethnicity, national origin) religion, disability, sexual orientation and gender identity. Hate crimes target an intrinsic part of the victim’s identity and research has shown that the psychological harm they can cause can be more severe than crimes not motivated by hate. Hate crimes also have an impact on communities that identify with the victim; this can leave many communities feeling alienated and living in fear.

Our State of the Sector Survey in 2013 found that there were 3,093 voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations in Manchester, with an estimated income of £477 million. The sector employed the equivalent of 12,400 full time staff and 94,300 volunteers gave 370,000 hours, with an estimated value of £332 million. Decision makers took note of the survey results, we know it increased their understanding of the sector. Some of the key facts (3093 organisations, 94,300 volunteers) are now widely quoted by colleagues in the Council, the NHS and other bodies such as Big Lottery Fund.
