Explore the heritage of the First World War with grants of £3,000–£10,000. This programme has a short application form, and is suitable for everyone, including first-time applicants.

The First World War affected millions across the globe and shaped the world we live in. The Centenary is a chance to understand the war better, uncover its stories and explore what it means to us today.

Grow Wild funding - apply by 2 Decenber 2014

Grow Wild is awarding funding of £1,000 to £4,000 to community groups that want to bring people together to transform a communal space by sowing and growing UK native plants.

If your group has an inspiring idea to connect people to nature, then apply before 2 December 2014 for your chance to join the lively network.

Grow wild are looking to fund at least 60 groups in 2015 across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Charity regulator announces changes to the annual return for charities

The Charity Commission has announced changes to the annual return, the tool it uses to hold charities accountable to the public.

The regulator says the changes, which will apply when charities report on their financial years ending in 2015, will strengthen its ability to identify risk and will ensure people have access to the information they need to make confident decisions about charities.

The annual return 2015 will include three new question areas, which received broad support in the consultation:

The Shop Direct Charitable Foundation aims to support charities, voluntary and community groups who work with, or run projects for, children and young people.

The focus of the fund is to create safe and inspiring environments for children and young people that impact positively on local social need.

Grants of between £2,000 and £7,000 are available.

What can be funded?
Core costs if there is a sustainability plan in place, capital costs but not in relation to building refurbishment or vehicles.

The Golden Bottle Trust and the Bulldog Trust are seeking to make small to medium sized grants (£1,000 - £30,000 over a maximum of 3 years) to new and existing organisations to enable them to get closer to achieving their goals.

For many organisations looking to finance new projects, seeking funding can be extremely difficult and in some cases, impossible. Common problems include time consuming application processes, minimum grant levels being too high, the project not fitting into a specific funding category or the organisation not meeting the strict criteria often required.

The National Prospectus Grants Programme 2015-16

Through the National Prospectus Grant Programme The Department for Education (DfE) want to help improve outcomes for children and young people (particularly those who are disadvantaged) and support for their families.

The DfE has identified seven policies themes it wishes to fund through this National Prospectus. Bids must be made specifically in support of one, or more, of the following seven policy themes below. A separate application is required for each theme.
