Tackling child exploitation support programme – programme of learning events launched

trainingThe Tackling Child Exploitation Support Programme, which is funded by the DfE, have launched a six-month programme of learning events. These are aimed at strategic leaders, senior managers and individuals interested in ideas to support systems improvement and working to address child exploitation and extra-familial harm.

To join you need to be a resident of Levenshulme, Longsight or Gorton and be an expectant Mum, Dad or Carer or have a child under 2. Siblings are welcome to accompany you.

Guide Dogs new pilot scheme Tech for All provides free iPads or iPhones for children with a vision impairment

guide dogsFor a limited time, Guide Dogs are offering iPads to children with a vision impairment aged 3-18, while secondary school-age children may choose an iPhone as an alternative. The devices have excellent accessibility features built-in, and online guides and tutorials will be provided to help them get started and to ensure that they know how to stay safe online. 

Breaking Boundaries Project – Manchester

breaking boundariesBreaking Boundaries aims to socially connect young people, their families, and communities together through regular cricket themed engagement, fostering mutual respect and friendships by playing, spectating and volunteering. It is delivered in 5 cities: Bradford, Birmingham, London (Barking and Dagenham), Manchester and Slough.

Henshaws Children and Young People Matched Appeal 2021

henshawsBetween now and 31 August, every donation towards Henshaws work with Children and Young People, will be matched funded, by a local businessman. This means a donation of £25 would be worth £50, or a donation of £1,000 would be worth £2,000. If you are able to fundraise or make any donation during this period, it would make an incredible difference to a young person living with a visual impairment.
