Gaddum have launched a Culturally Appropriate Advocacy service across Greater Manchester for Black Asian and Minority Ethnic people who have experienced treatment under the Mental gaddumHealth Act.

About the Culturally Appropriate Advocacy service
Gaddum will be delivering this service in partnership with African and Caribbean Mental Health Services (ACMHS) who have been Advocacy partners since 2021.

Mental Wellbeing Strategy Stakeholder Engagement Events

The Department of Public Health is hosting a series of stakeholder engagement events in late November / early December to support the development of a mental wellbeing strategy. The strategy will focus on a public health and social determinants approach to the prevention of mental ill-health and the promotion of good mental health and wellbeing. It will work alongside the existing healthcare system approaches to treatment and support for mental ill-health problems and conditions.

Six places in a different light

Greater Manchester to welcome new public art trail to promote mental health awareness this winter

Creative studio and multidisciplinary arts collective We are Willow, has collaborated with global art producer Wild in Art to deliver ‘Six Places In A Different Light’. A series of six striking installations across Greater Manchester to promote mental health awareness and wellbeing.

The project is funded and supported by the Greater Manchester Integrated Care Partnership, Salford City Council, The University of Salford, LandsecU+I and Arts Council England.

Suicide Prevention Grant Fund 2023-2025

The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has made available a £10 million Suicide Prevention Grant Fund to support suicide prevention activities delivered in England by non-profit organisations. The funding period is from financial a blue bag with a yellow ribbon around the top and white pound sign on the frontyear 2023 to 2024 to the end of the financial year 2024 to 2025.

Kooth information sessions over August

Kooth is an online mental wellbeing community. As the new school year rolls around Kooth is running a new set of information sessions available for you to join and learn more about Kooth. These sessions are open to all professionals that koothwork with children and young people from the age of 10 and up to the age of 25. During the session Kooth will be taking a look and learning about the following:

Micro grants to support mental wellbeing

Grants from £100 up to £1,000 are available for VCSE organisations to run activities that will support people from the communities of identity or experience below that may struggle to achieve higher levels of mental wellbeing.
