The Volunteer Drivers’ Network is an initiative led by Macc to connect organisations across Manchester with individuals who are able to drive and can support with community tasks. Community tasks could involve delivering food packages, transporting a service user or picking up donations, as well as many other tasks which would involve an individual needing to drive.
Emma Dowling from the University of Vienna will lead an interactive discussion about delineating volunteering as a concept based on her recent research into the phenomenon and implications for practice.

The Community Transport Association provides leadership, training, advice, and operational support to transport related charities, community groups and social enterprises in England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. 
The University of Manchester has a Student Experience Internship (SEI) scheme which provides funding to pay for a limited number of students to undertake an eight-week summer internship within organisations in the charity and not-for-profit sector in Manchester.
The Friends of Didsbury Park, a group of volunteers based in Didsbury, Manchester have just been awarded The King’s Award for Voluntary Service. This is the highest award a local voluntary group can receive in the UK and is equivalent to an MBE.
This winter, Street Support Network are partnering with Greater Manchester Homelessness Action Network (GMHAN) to launch a campaign to educate the public and businesses about how to 
volunteer effectively with homelessness organisations in Greater Manchester.
The Be Proud Awards celebrate Manchester's many volunteers and the unsung heroes who make our city great.
The awards are the perfect way to thank the extraordinary individuals and groups for their hard work in helping others.
These individuals and groups make a real difference in our communities.
Charities with an annual income of up to £250,000 are eligible to apply, with a maximum grant of £10,000. Priority is given to charities who rely on volunteer support and make an impact in their communities. The Trust plans to distribute a total 
of £500,000 in this round.
