GM Moving Volunteering Community of Practice

GM Moving are delighted to bring people and partners back together for their latest Community of Practice focused on volunteering in sport, physical activity and movement. This event is open to anyone with an interest in volunteering in ways that enable active lives.

The event will explore some of the key challenges around this topic, hearing updates from partners, and sharing best practice and resources to support the development of volunteering.

Announcement: Macc has successfully secured Manchester City Council’s contract to provide infrastructure support to the city's voluntary, community, and social enterprise sector

Macc is delighted to announce that, following an open tender process, we have once again been successful in securing the contract with Manchester City Council to deliver infrastructure support to the city's voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) sector. This work enables us to support charities, community groups (including the community work done by faith organisations), voluntary groups, and social enterprises to be healthy, sustainable, well-run and above all, impactful for our communities.

Volunteer and training programme at Manchester Museum

Manchester Museum and Manchester Adult Education are excited to launch a new interactive 6-week course to learn new skills, develop confidence and gain volunteering experience.

Inspired by museum collections and drawing on their unique spaces and staff resources, the course is open to Greater Manchester Residents. Learn more about promoting a successful visitor experience and gain an accredited qualification with units in areas such as presentation skills and customer service.

Courses and workshops at the Boiler House

The Boiler House is a centre for making and mending. The Boiler House aim to provide free and low-cost use of tools, equipment and space for people and be a catalyst for people to reach their potential. The Boiler House run a variety of community workshops, providing skills for employment, improving health and wellbeing, developing a circular economy, and promoting gender and race equality.
