ClickSafe Club: Lego Robotics & Engineering Future Pathways Bootcamp (3 days)

This 3-day bootcamp introduces students (ages 13 - 16, with no prior coding experience) to STEM through LEGO Robotics, real-world applications, and studies and career pathways. The goal is to spark curiosity and excitement about STEM fields, especially in robotics, technology, and problem-solving.

Key Focus Areas:

Day 1: How STEM shapes our world & intro to robotics
Day 2: Hands-on robotics challenges solving real-world problems
Day 3: STEM career pathways, introduction to Python, and opportunities beyond school

Coding Approach:

Day 1-2: Block-based coding (LEGO SPIKE Prime) for accessibility and quick learning.
Day 3: Introduction to Python through simple modifi cations of block-based code.
 

Day 1: A World Without STEM & Introduction to Robotics

Objective:

Understand the impact of STEM on daily life.

Explore the basics of LEGO robotics & block-based coding.

Recognise the Importance of Diversity in STEM

Day 2: Robotics Challenges – Solving Real-World Problems - Submerged challenge.

Teams will use creative thinking and LEGO® technology to explore the layers of the ocean and bring their learnings and ideas to the surface as they “sea” into the future. Learn more
 

Teams will achieve as many missions as time allows.
 

Objective:

Apply robotics to real-world problems.

Work in teams to develop solutions.

Get familiar with the First Lego League Tournament (Thanks to our partner the Institute of Engineering and Technology).

Day 3: Pathways to STEM Careers & Introduction to Python
 

Objective:
 

Introduce students to STEM careers & opportunities.

Provide a hands-on intro to Python.

Discussion of scholarship and apprenticeship opportunities such as;
