The Outdoor Collaborative (TOC) is set to launch its Youth Ambassador Programme 2026 – 2027, aimed at recruiting people across Greater Manchester to help support young people in our local communities: improving their mental and physical wellbeing and helping them build a better connection to community life.
About the Youth Ambassador Programme
The programme is designed to help volunteers develop their communication, leadership, and event organisation skills while supporting our outdoor photography, digital skills, and creative activities.
Young people who show commitment and enthusiasm will have the opportunity to become TOC Youth Ambassadors, taking on leadership roles in future sessions and community events.
What TOC Youth Ambassadors will receive:
- Travel expenses reimbursed
- Refreshments provided during sessions
- Official TOC Youth Ambassador Certificate
- Priority access to future TOC public activities
- Opportunities to connect with local charities and community organisations, learn new skills, and strengthen their CV
A bit about what TOC do
Since 2018, TOC has supported young people through outdoor learning combined with digital creativity: including photography, filmmaking, and outdoor exploration - helping them build confidence, resilience, and practical skills.
To date, we've worked with over 800 young people, with around 40 supported annually through our workshops, and 95% reporting improved wellbeing and confidence.
We're proud to work alongside partners including UK Youth, Groundwork Greater Manchester, Mahdlo Youth Zone, Action Together, and several local schools, and we were recently nominated for the Organisation Making a Difference in the Community award - This Is Manchester Awards 2025.
