In response to positive feedback from previous events, Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH) is pleased to announce that the next Trauma-Informed Care Special Interest Day (SID) will be held virtually on Friday 4 December 2026, from 9:30am to 1:00pm. The event is free to attend and open to anyone with an interest in trauma-informed care, including members of the public, people with lived experience, and those working across health, care, and community settings.
The theme of this year’s event, ‘Lived Experience / Expert by Experience’, highlights the importance of meaningful, person-centred engagement. It encourages us all to reflect on and centre our interactions around the simple yet powerful question, “How are you, and what matters to you today?”—guiding how we connect with one another across services, communities, and everyday life.
The event will feature a diverse range of expert speakers, bringing together a wealth of knowledge, insight and lived experience, including:

- Rose Smith and Emma Allen – Perinatal Services / EDI Lead
- The Big Life Group
- Peter Bullimore – National Paranoia Network
- Louise Shaw – Manchester Action on Street Health (MASH)
- Dan Stears – Lived Experience Network and Kieran Jones Peer Support Co-ordinator.
- Lucy Burtham – NHS Trust Peer Support Lead
- Wendy Broderick and Abigail Holland – Neighbourhood Mental Health Services
