Funding available from Manchester Metropolitan University to recruit a Graduate Intern

Manchester Metropolitan University’s GradMatch provides funding for organisations to recruit 2014 graduates for 8-week internships.

This year’s GradMatch scheme enables graduates to gain paid work experience in a range of industries in the North West and will fund up to 100 paid internships. It provides organisations with £1,000 to put towards their intern’s salary, with organisations contributing an additional £1,000 to provide the graduate with National Minimum Wage for the full 8-week internship.

Homophobic, Biphobic and Transphobic Bullying Grant Launched in England

Voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations with creative ideas to tackle homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying in England's schools and playgrounds are being encouraged to apply to the one-off £2 million fund.

Grants of between £100,000 and £750,000 are expected to be awarded for projects that are innovative, sustainable, of national significance, and support one, or more, of the following suggested areas:

Grow Wild funding - apply by 2 Decenber 2014

Grow Wild is awarding funding of £1,000 to £4,000 to community groups that want to bring people together to transform a communal space by sowing and growing UK native plants.

If your group has an inspiring idea to connect people to nature, then apply before 2 December 2014 for your chance to join the lively network.

Grow wild are looking to fund at least 60 groups in 2015 across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Shop Direct Charitable Foundation

The Shop Direct Charitable Foundation aims to support charities, voluntary and community groups who work with, or run projects for, children and young people.

The focus of the fund is to create safe and inspiring environments for children and young people that impact positively on local social need.

Grants of between £2,000 and £7,000 are available.

What can be funded?
Core costs if there is a sustainability plan in place, capital costs but not in relation to building refurbishment or vehicles.

Our Space Your Place Grants

Our Space, Your Place offers organisations, community groups and charities across the region the opportunity to benefit from support in the form of funding or time, to improve their community.

The only condition is that the contribution should be used for something which will genuinely enhance or improve services, facilities or the environment within their local area.

Contributions are available from £100 to £1,000.

The Golden Bottle Trust and the Bulldog Trust are seeking to make small to medium sized grants (£1,000 - £30,000 over a maximum of 3 years) to new and existing organisations to enable them to get closer to achieving their goals.

For many organisations looking to finance new projects, seeking funding can be extremely difficult and in some cases, impossible. Common problems include time consuming application processes, minimum grant levels being too high, the project not fitting into a specific funding category or the organisation not meeting the strict criteria often required.

The National Prospectus Grants Programme 2015-16

Neighbourhood Planning Workshop Grants available

There’s a new grant funding pool from (Department for Communities and Local Government) DCLG now available to encourage communities to take up neighbourhood planning.

Local groups can apply for grants of up to £2,000 to run a neighbourhood planning workshop in their community. The workshop must be run by knowledgeable and enthusiastic advocate of neighbourhood planning, with the aim of giving a community the information they need to begin the neighbourhood planning process.
