Extra money for Reaching Communities applicants

The Big Lottery have found that community groups are so busy doing their day-to-day work that they have little time or money left for their staff and trustees to learn new skills or focus on long-term goal.

So they have decided to offer extra money to organisations who are applying to their Reaching Communities programme to help them develop their skills, knowledge and confidence.

Greater Manchester Police and Manchester City Council have a fantastic opportunity to invest cash back of £30,000 into the community of Wythenshawe.

Do you have a great idea or a project that needs funding?

You can bid for a grant between £500 - £3000.

To apply collect an application form from the following places and return by Tuesday 5 November 2014:

Adactus Neighbourhood Fund - Round 2 apply by 10 Nov

In Manchester, Trafford and Cheshire Adactus tenants have allocated around £80,000 to 94 projects. Projects ranged from youth diversionary activities to healthy living to environmental improvements.

£7,000 remains so Adactus are asking for bids of up to £1,000 from community projects in Manchester, Trafford and Cheshire operating in areas where Adactus tenants live. Funding must be spent by 28 February 2015.

Funding to prevent female genital mutilation and other forms of so-called honour based violence

The Department for Communities and Local Government, in collaboration with the Government Equalities Office, is launching a call for applications for community engagement work to prevent female genital mutilation and other forms of so-called honour based violence. Any voluntary sector organisation, under section 70 of the Charities Act 2006, including faith groups, are invited to apply for a one-off grant of between £2,000 and £15,000.

The Eastlands Homes Community Grant – next deadline 24 October 2014

The Eastlands Homes Community Grant has been launched to support projects and activities operating in east and south-east Manchester.

Applications are encouraged from all of Eastlands Homes areas, but must benefit the local community in order to be considered.

HMRC Grant Funding 2015/16

HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has £2m funding to allocate in 2015/16 to the Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) to provide advice and support to their customers who need extra help understanding and complying with their obligations and claiming their entitlements.

In May 2014, HMRC launched its new service for customers who need extra help, following a pilot in the North East of England.

Cultural Partnership Grants 2015-18

Not-for-profit organisations can apply for funding of between £10,000 and £40,000 per year, until March 2018, to support the core costs of their organisation. A total of £900,000 is available (subject to budget) over three years from this fund.

The Culture Team and Manchester City Council want your work to have a lasting impact that will directly benefits residents and the economy, now and in the future.

You can apply on behalf of your organisation or, if you're working with another organisation, you can apply together.

Briefings on Greater Manchester’s European funding plans

Greater Manchester has an allocation of £356 million of European Structural Funds for the 2014-20 programme.

The Funds, overall, are designed to reduce economic inequalities by targeting additional resources at developing skills, jobs and enterprise for those people and areas which need extra help. There is also clear acknowledgement of the importance of social inclusion and social innovation as necessary conditions of economic inclusion; this is similarly acknowledged in the Greater Manchester Strategy, which also acknowledges the importance of our sector in delivering this.
