Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) have developed a resource in partnership with VCFSE organisations supporting people seeking asylum in Greater Manchester, which aims to provide information about the options available to people who have received a negative asylum decision. GMCA felt that there was a lack of clear information available to people and hope this this resource will be helpful for people who have been refused asylum, and for the people supporting them in Greater Manchester.

Are you involved in the delivery of services to victims of crime? 

Do you support prisoners, prison leavers, people on probation? 

Are the families of victims or perpetrators a group you support? 

Do you support those in or on the edge of the criminal justice system? 

If you answered YES to any of these questions then you should join the brand new Greater Manchester Victims and Justice Group, part of the GM VCFSE Leadership Group.

Manchester City Council is asking you to help them decide how they balance their budget for 2025/26, while protecting frontline services and delivering on your priorities. Your views on savings options of up to £41.5m which have been identified for 2025/26 and beyond, plus proposals on how much you pay for council tax, can help shape the decisions.

Residents and businesses across Greater Manchester can now have their say on ambitious proposals to protect green spaces and support the natural environment for generations to come.

The Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) is inviting people to give their views on the city-region’s first Local Nature Recovery Strategy, which has been developed to address the loss of nature and biodiversity across Greater Manchester in recent decades.

The GM Equality Alliance (GM=EqAl) is a coalition of organisations and individuals drawn from a wide range of communities of experience across Greater Manchester.

Their Inclusive Language Guidance aims to help us all be respectful and consistent when talking about different themes, such as race and ethnicity, disability, sex and gender, and more.

In a new report recently published, national think tank – the King’s Fund has praised Greater Manchester for its work on population health and the improvements it’s made to health outcomes. Calling Greater Manchester “the poster child for devolution” in England, it recognises the time, effort and resources put in place across our city-region to help people to live good lives, improve wellbeing and prevent illness.

New guidance has been published to help smaller and local voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations operating in local authority areas experiencing financial difficulties. Published by NAVCA and the Lloyds Bank Foundation for England and Wales (LBFEW), the guidance sets out the key stages of a section 114 notice (s114 notice) journey, detailing what VCSE organisations should expect and do to navigate each.
