The implementation of the Elections Act in the United Kingdom signifies a momentous shift in the country's electoral processes. These changes, scheduled to be phased in gradually, have wide-reaching implications for Election Administrators and the general public. As an infrastructure organisation for the local voluntary, community and social enterprise sector in Manchester, it is essential for us to clarify how these modifications impact our communities.
Read the headline results from the latest Greater Manchester Residents survey (wave 11) produced by GMCA. Findings are based on fieldwork with c1,500 residents from across all ten districts, undertaken 29 January to 13 February. They cover cost of living, housing, transport and local areas.

The committee discussed the annual public sector equality duty report, providing an overview of council’s delivery against objectives of knowing Manchester better, improving life chances and celebrating diversity. The report acknowledged good progress but recognised gaps and where further progress can be made.

A consultation has opened on new laws which will scale up preparedness for terrorist attacks, making sure the public is protected without putting unnecessary burdens on smaller businesses and organisations.
