The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) have launched a survey to assess the awareness and preparedness of organisations in DCMS sectors across the UK for a potential 'no deal' EU exit when the UK Leaves the EU on 31 October 2019.
The mid-summer newsletter features the launch of a Mini Poverty Monitor. GM Poverty Action have set up this page to support people in their network who wish to access key data relating to poverty quickly and easily. The data presented is not an exhaustive list, but a snapshot of some of the key local poverty metrics.

Monday 22 July 2019 marks 100 years (to the day) of the formation of Manchester and Salford Council of Social Service. Macc, Salford CVS and Gaddum have worked together to mark the occasion with a celebratory event at the People’s History Museum. We felt it is important to mark 100 years of social action across the twin cities of Salford and Manchester.

The Our Manchester Voluntary Sector Programme Team have been undertaking a scenario planning process for the Targeted Fund priority 'Creating an age friendly city that promotes good health and well-being for people in mid and later life' with representatives from Manchester Health and Care Commissioning officers. 
Greater Manchester Poverty Action (GMPA) has been working on behalf of the GM VCSE Devolution Reference Group to develop tools that help promote the voluntary and community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector’s role in the Greater Manchester economy. At meetings where people from statutory organisations are extolling the virtues and importance of the VCSE sector, I quite often feel like saying “SHOW ME THE MONEY” over and over again, just like Cuba Gooding Junior says at an increasing volume to a confused Tom Cruise in the film Jerry Maguire. He doesn’t want warm words - he wants cold cash. I can’t remember what happens after that but it all ends happily when he realises that the most important thing is love - “you had me at hello”. I love a happy ending.
