More than 920,000 people in the UK are living with dementia – a number expected to rise to over a million in 2024. Most people with dementia are aged 65 and over, accounting for over 880,000 people.
Each year there are 209,600 new cases of dementia. Two thirds of people with dementia are women and more than 600,000 women in the UK are now living with dementia.
