The Spirit of Women Changemakers Small Grants

The Spirit of Women Changemakers small grants programme will fund activity in the UK that improves the wellbeing of women and girls who are subjected to harmful gender norms and stereotypes. The grants are to support organisations to empower women and men to create lasting change in their communities and sustainably improve gender equality. Applications are being invited to fund creative, cultural, sporting and/or volunteering responses to at least one of their two key impact goals.

Charities Act 2016: new fundraising rules

New rules for charity fundraising start on 1 November 2016. They affect the trustees’ annual reports of larger charities that fundraise from the public, as well as the contents of the agreements that must be in place when professional fundraisers or other businesses (‘commercial participators’) raise money for charities.

Championing Self Care Approaches in Manchester

Group receives Lottery funding to unite Greater Manchester’s unpaid Carers

The Big Lottery Fund has awarded over £380,000 to an organisation working across Manchester and Liverpool City Regions to unite unpaid carers of people with dementia and give them a strong voice. The decision was made after discovering that the health and care services across the country save over £11bn a year by relying upon the tireless work of unpaid dementia carers, many of whom put their own wellbeing at risk every day.

Mustard Tree Survey – plans for building on Oldham Road

Mustard Tree is a charity that provides services to people who are homeless and at risk of homelessness.
