Manchester Disabled People’s Project

Greater Manchester Coalition of Disabled People (GMCDP) has a new 3-year project funded by Manchester City Councils Equalities Funding Programme. The project is open to any disabled person aged 15 and over, who lives in Manchester.

It will provide a range of information and support on independent living and other disability related issues, as well as providing one to one support, small group workshops, training and a comprehensive information resource.

Web-based Gift Aid tool developed for smaller charities

Gift Aid specialists Kvisio have launched GiftAid Online, a web-based tool for small charities (those with under 1,000 supporters), who want to make Gift Aid claims online through the HMRC Gateway.

The tool has been developed following the changes in HMRC's rules for online tax claims.

Government Campaign to Get More People on the Electoral Register

The Cabinet Office is inviting organisations to apply to deliver activity aimed at getting more people on the electoral register and increase levels of democratic engagement. This is part of the campaign launched by the Minister for Constitutional and Political Reform, Chloe Smith MP. Organisations are formally invited to apply for part of the £4.2million aimed at engaging groups which are currently under-represented on the electoral register.

Macc's Policy and Influence Team works alongside representatives from Manchester voluntary, community and faith organisations to attend a range of strategic partnership meetings to influence local policy and decisions, raise issues of concern, promote the impact of the work of the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector in Manchester, and to gather information to share with sector colleagues.
