Funding techniques
Here are some funding techniques to help you encourage giving:
Surviving the Recovery
During the recent bout of hot weather, I somehow managed to come down with a cold. I not only felt ill, I also felt ridiculous: I mean who gets a cold in the middle of a heatwave? As I write this, figures have just been released showing that the country’s economy is slowly starting to grow again after the recession. It’s a similar feeling: I’m being told it’s lovely out there but it feels dreadful. No matter what the economic analysis says, when I look around I see incomes reducing, prices rising, services closing and life generally becoming more difficult.
People's Postcode Trust Dream Fund 2014
Funding is available for organisations in Scotland, England and Wales to deliver the project they have always dreamed of, but never had the opportunity to bring to life.
Organisations are encouraged to collaborate to provide a more efficient service. All applications must, therefore, come from at least two organisations that have joined forces. One of these organisations must be a registered charity, who will be considered the lead organisation for the project. The other organisations can be another charity, a voluntary group, a community interest company or a social enterprise
Youth participation project VYM - Young people's magazine
Voluntary Youth Manchester (VYM) are developing an exciting participation project to enable young people aged 13-25 to be involved in all elements of designing and making a creative and interactive magazine, for, and about young people.
Be a Spirit of Manchester Awards supporter
Could you donate a prize to the Spirit of Manchester Awards raffle?
The raffle will be drawn on the night of the awards ceremony, which is being held at the new NOMA building and presented by the Lord Mayor of Manchester.
Community Cashback Starter grants are now available
Starter grants of up to £3000 are available for tenant groups who are interested in 'Community Cashback' agreements with their landlords.
A Community Cashback agreement is a voluntary deal for tenants and residents to take control of small-scale local services such as cleaning, gardening etc. Any cost savings are kept by the resident group to use for community benefit.
The Peak District Challenge 2013
This is a brand new walking or running challenge in the Peak District National Park (easily accessible from Manchester by public transport) that you can share and enter to help to raise funds for your favourite charity.
There are four different challenge lengths - 25, 50, 80 or 90km to choose from and there is a great team ensuring all the participants will have a great (and safe) time as they take it on.
The Challenge takes place from Friday 20 September to – Saturday 21 September 2013.
