Recently I attended a neglect summit organised by Manchester Safeguarding Children Board. A summit seems like a heady title but felt fitting for the task at hand. The summit was facilitated by Professor Jan Howarth who is working with several LSCB’s around issues of neglect and has led several research projects and written books on multi-agency approaches to neglect.

Awards for All England Regional Pilot

20 Dec 2012 - 11:29 by michelle.foster

Projects throughout England now have the opportunity to apply for repeat and on-going activities under Awards for All in a pilot scheme running until the end of March 2013.

Currently Awards for All does not fund on-going, regular or repeat activities, as the programme has focused on ‘new’ project ideas. However, in these challenging times the Big Lottery are increasingly aware of the pressures smaller groups face with rising costs and cuts to funding, and want to respond to this by looking at alternative ways of funding projects that support those most in need.

Support for applicants to the Manchester Equalities Funding

Manchester City Council has launched its Equalities Funding Grant Programme. The Equalities Funding Programme is worth approximately £660,000 per year and provides grants of up to £40,000 per year to voluntary and community sector groups to deliver projects to communities, which address inequalities faced by sections of the community in Manchester.

The City Council anticipate that there will be few applications requesting the full £40,000 and expect to fund a broad range of smaller projects.
