FoodCycle is opening up in Wythenshawe

foodcycleFoodCycle is preparing to open its first Wythenshawe-based free meals service for local residents. FoodCycle currently operate a free meals service in Prestwich, Levenshulme and Salford, and hope to restart the Oldham FoodCycle Project soon too.

FoodCycle is a national charity established in 2009, with the aim of tackling food poverty and social isolation using donated surplus food.

Onward Community Fund

The Onward Community Fund aims to support local groups and projects.

Underpinned by the mission ‘To make a positive difference in the communities we serve’ groups can bid for up to £2,500 for their neighbourhood. Examples could include: IT training, youth projects or community events.

gas safe charity logoThe Gas Safe Charity runs free, on line 'Think CO' workshops to raise awareness of carbon monoxide (CO) risks in the homes of vulnerable people. They are aimed at those staff and volunteers who provide support in the home. After the training you will be more aware of the sources, signs and symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning and understand what to do if you suspect a CO incident.
