Green Social Prescribing funding boost for Greater Manchester Mental Health
Organisations across Greater Manchester are being encouraged to come together to submit bids for local funding after the region secured £500,000 government funding for green social prescribing to improve the region’s mental health.
Green social prescribing connects people with nature-based activities such as walking and cycling, community gardening and food-growing projects, as well as tasks such as tree planting.

The ESF Community Grant Programme is already helping many people in Greater Manchester who face additional barriers in the workplace to improve their employability and gain employment.
Community Champions are looking to fund up to £4,000 for emerging local groups as well as charities, religious organisations and other not-for-profit organisations that have been affected by Covid. They will look especially favourably on small BAME-led organisations with a low annual turnover.
